Conquering Freedom "One Soulful Night" A few weeks back, a good friend of mine and his wife invited me to dinner.  The dinner was a fundraiser for a non profit called The Auditory Verbal Center.  The purpose of this organization is to serve people who are hard of hearing or who are deaf at varying degrees.  With this comes many challenges in communicating with people but most importantly just the simple delight in hearing the lovely sounds we take for granted everyday.   While I do not have any speech impediments or a loss of hearing, I became really inquisitive with this cause and the people impacted because to me it seemed pretty extreme. I mean how is it POSSIBLE to navigate life without the ability to hear? I could not begin to imagine. I've always delighted in the sounds of everything yet it again it seems like another thing I have taken for granted.  Can you picture not being able to hear the voices of your significant other, your mom or dad, ...

Conquering Freedom "Here I stand embarking on greater endeavors" Conquering freedom is about my new journey in life, a new mindset, a training of the mind to be great, and learning to move in the spirit carefree accepting experience, people and circumstances as the ultimate life lesson or ultimate preparation for something greater...   Anything less is considered an illusion or an attack on my freedom...or so long I let this attack reign supreme allowing my self to be socialized to the point of utter disappointment.  This opportunity is about me but its also about YOU.  All of you beautiful people who continue to shine so brightly in my life, even if I have never said anything to you.... Conquering Freedom "Remaining poised and present" Often, I get ahead of myself in my own head with my own thoughts. Has that ever happened to you where you find yourself lost in the moment, lost in the present thinking about the next? Like what am I doing tonight?, what's for dinner tomorrow? Meantime, the beauty of the current moment passes away along with the joy you are entitled to as a human being. It's a dangerous place to be when you are living for what may not come to fruition or for your own expectations.  We are only guranteed the current moment, that's all we truly have and life is much more enjoyable when we look through this lense.
